Waterjet

At GLE-Precision, the waterjet cutting components we manufacture include ceramic and carbide plungers, ceramic and carbide bushings and steel and carbide poppets.  These are just a few of the products and components used throughout the waterjet industry in high-pressure cutting machines.  Carbide and ceramic washers, bearings and rods are also purchased in high volumes by several waterjet manufacturers.  Other applications include the industrial cleaning markets and other specialty applications regarding waterjet cutting components, as well as replacement parts and aftermarket.

Do you require a high-volume of  ceramic or carbide plungers or ceramic or carbide bushings?  GLE-Precision is equipped to run high-volume production as well as R&D.  We will work with engineers to produce your finished part for full production.  In most cases with our waterjet customers, finished parts are completed and waiting on the shelf for customer releases.  We believe in lean manufacturing and working in a lean environment to best support and meet our customers needs.  Whenever possible, we implement lean principals in the workplace in our everyday practices.  

Waterjet Cutting Components: Surface Finish

The precision machinists at GLE-Precision can achieve a .4RA (.01016 micron) or better surface finish on products such as ceramic plungers and carbide bushings.  Other common waterjet cutting components we manufacture include poppets and washers.  Does your application involve abrasive materials?  The surface finish can improve the wear life and performance of your product.  We commonly work with several grades of tungsten carbide (with and without nickel binder), ceramics and steels.  Does your part require a coating?  We also work with several coating vendors to ensure your print specifications are being met in regards to coating applications as well.  Coatings are used to aid in wear characteristics, increasing wear life in the part.  Other coatings aid in corrosion resistance and mechanical strength.
