We manufacture precision tooling, dies, components and other special wear parts to customer print. We hold tight tolerances on these products made from tungsten carbides, ceramics and hardened steels. We are equipped with machinery, processing techniques and experience to produce miniature parts with OD’s or ID’s as small as .002″ (.0508mm). Conventional-size production is to 6.000″ (152.4mm) in diameter, up to 18″ (457mm) between centers. Tight Tolerances on Micro-Precision Mini-Carbide Parts
Our decades of experience with small, precise carbide parts is extensive.
Holding tight tolerances and small part lapping is critical at GLE-Precision. When we say the tight tolerances we hold are “Beyond Belief”, we mean it. Many companies can say they are the capabilities to hold tight tolerances, but not many can inspect what they say they can hold. Many companies also think .0001″ is a tight tolerance. At GLE-Precision, we agree .0001″ might be hard to told, but for us, that is just the beginning. We lap holes as standard procedure as small as .004″ (.1016mm) to a tolerance of .000050″ (.00127mm) in roundness and size. The ID is concentric to an OD to .000050″ (.00127mm), with finishes to .4RA (.01016 micron) or less. Depending on the application, the surface finish can be decreased (better) than a .4RA (.01016 micron) if needed.

These accuracies are satisfactory for most applications, but we can handle closer tolerances where required. Precision becomes easier as the holes increase in diameter, but with this contrast, the competition within the market increases. As precision machinists, we like to do the unthinkable and the absurd.
